I don't know how true is the picture, but I think it will definitely work, coz theoretically, SDHC memory modules should be working up to 32GB...

Global Race for E90 available for DL

Global Race is a racing game designed for the Nokia E90 Commun
icator with innovative GPS features. Global Race is a gut-churning, tire burning racer developed for a broad range of mobile platforms and handheld devices. Race against time and your opponents in this fast paced and exhilarating coin-op style racing game. This game allows you to control over some of the most extreme muscle cars in the world, on a variety of tracks set in different beautifully realized environments.

Global Race is a mobile implementation of Gamelion's global racing community. The community offers many exciting features for racing fans, including track editor and other tools for user-generated content, web games and multiplayer between web and mobile.

DL Link here...

Although this 3D Racing Game is design for the E90, it can also work on the N95 and I believe it should also work on the N93 and N93i, reason being all of these phones have 3D GPU...

I found that although you can play the Global Race in Landscape
Mode on the N95, on this mode the display is optimized for the E90, the odometer/speedometer is blocking the view, I guess it can not stretch that much on the N95 screen, see the screen shot below...

I also find that it is better to use the Numeric Keypad of the N95 rather than the D-pad, because if I use the D-pad, I keep on pressing the Multi-Media Key, which will exit the game unexpectedly...

N95 Tips & Tricks

Now here are some nice Tips & Trick for the N95 that I picked up and have found out myself...

  • Use your N95 speaker's magnets to pick up small metal objects like pieces of staple wires (see pics above)... hehehe... ;)
  • Increase your RAM by deleting "Welcome" in Application Menu...
  • Want to hide some pictures so that it doesn't show up in your Gallery? Just move these photos in the "My Videos" folder... now I know that it is still can be accessed on the File Manager, but at least you did not have to pay for a 3rd part application and no need to install anything...
  • Make your Ringtone horrendously loud by turning ON the 3D Ringtone...
  • Conserve Battery by turning off WLAN and set the phone to GSM only, specially if you do not use 3G that often or not at all...
  • Using GPS, click on options/view/satellite info, then after you got a good satellite status say 3 to 5 you can then click back and it will make your connection faster...
Hey, have you got any Tips & Tricks, share it with me...

Nice Small Things About The N95

Nice small things about the N95 that i like...
  • When the Music Player is playing in the background and you are browsing the menu, I like the way the music player pops out the next track to be played on the top of the menu...
  • I like the way that small "C" icon is being displayed on the top-right corner of the application that is running in the background... this is also shown on the folder where the application is located...
  • I love the games that can be played on landscape mode...
  • Its great that Keypad Autolock is now built-in...
  • It is also great that there is Alarm Repeat in the Clock...
  • I like that Flash can be used for Animated Screen Saver...
  • I simply love the fast menu...
Now, I am aware that these nice small things about the N95 may be true to most S60 3rd Edition with FP1, with that in mind, I can't wait till we got FP2...

Great Stuffs for N95

N95 practically have everything, but then a great device will still need these great add ons to make it err, perfect perhaps...

A BIG Memory Card like the SanDisk 4GB microSDHC which is certified that can be used for N95... well, still doubting??? then read this recent Reg Hardware Review of the SanDisk 4GB Micro SDHC Memory Card wherein the guys are concluding that it is fully compatible with the N95 (well the SanDisk site already said it so, why doubt it??? well, many did...)

great read too...

I know everybody is complaining about the paltry battery of the N95, well here is a 1,700 mAH 3rd Party Battery for the N95, just don't ask me if I have tried this one coz I HAVE NOT and most probably will not as Nokia does not recommend it...

No great phone, err Multimedia Computer is of course complete with out a good Belt Pouch, and since I do not recommend those expensive pouches like the ones from Krusell (since why would you buy a very expensive pouch that won't last long and you change your phone that fast as well anyway?), I will definitely recommend the Nokia CP-191, which is the Official Nokia Belt Pouch for the N95...

do note that I have been using Official Nokia Pouches for a long time, and these New Nokia pouches had been very good, so far... some of them are Made in Turkey and are made of very good leather, not like the older ones from Nokia, which I would not recommend and I don't think I need to elaborate anyway...

Nokia Nseries PC Suite

"The bridge between your life, your device and your PC."

That is how the Nokia Nseries PC Suite (NNPCS) is being introduced in the N76 Support site that contains the link to download it... make no mistake, this Nseries PC Suite is NOT just for the N76, I have already tested it on the N95 and it works like a charm...

The NNPCS is simply a visual delight. I like the way it looks. Although Nokia PC Suite (NPCS) seems to have more applications , the NNPCS seems to be faster and more coherent and offers better customization in some ways and definitely a Multimedia Suite... try it now guys...

N95 MP3 Dilemma - 5 Hours of Playback

yea, this is actually more about the Achilles Heal of the N95- the paltry 950 mAh BL-5F battery... I did the MP3 playback test until the battery is fully drain... and what do I got? a mere 5 Hours of MP3 playback... here are the details of the two MP3 Playback Testing, yea I did 2 and a 3rd one is on going as well...

1st Test Configuration:

  • Input Unit- N95 with SanDisk 2GB microSD
  • Connector- Nokia CA-75U Audio/Video Connector
  • Output Unit- Marantz Integrated Stereo Amplifier PM-53 with NAD 801 Stereo SpeakersI

1st Test Details

the N95 is fully charged, the EGSM radio is on, the GPS is also selected (I will get to this latter) everything is as normal as it is, I also got a short call of about 1 min. and all I got is a mere 5 hours of continuous MP3 Playback...

2nd Test Configuration:

  • Input Unit- N95 with SanDisk 2GB microSD
  • Connector- Nokia AD-43 Audio Connector/Remote Controller
  • Output Unit- Nokia HS-45 Stereo Headset

2nd Test Details

the N95 is fully charged, the EGSM radio is on, the GPS is DISABLED- well, somebody hinted that disabling the Internal GPS of the N95 is supposed to lengthen the battery life...

how to disable the GPS??? you goto Menu/Tools/Settings/General/Positioning and Disable Integrated GPS

other than this, everything is normal as the 1st Test, and what do i get, the same 5 hours of playback...

3rd Test Configuration:

  • Input Unit- N95 with SanDisk 1GB microSD
  • Connector- Nokia AD-43 Audio Connector/Remote Controller
  • Output Unit- Nokia HS-45 Stereo Headset

3rd Test Details

everything the same as 1st Test, however the microSD is only 1GB... well, it didn't also do any help at all it is still the same paltry 5 hours of MP3 playback...

Test Conclusion

for now i think there is no need for any 4th Test, we can safely conclude that the N95 is only capable of 5 hours of continuous MP3 playback which kinda sucks coz the others Nokia phones can easily do 10 hours or more...
